At a high-level, to join New York's Medical Cannabis Program you will need two things:
- A valid NYS Medical Cannabis Patient Certification
- A valid state-issued ID
Accepted forms of identification include: drivers licenses, state issued ID, and passports. Photos or digital copies will not be accepted.
How do I become a New York medical cannabis patient?
Licensed practitioners are now able to enroll patients at their own clinical discretion. The only requirement to become a medical patient is you must have a residence in New York or be treated by a licensed practitioner in New York. Patients now have the option to connect in-person or virtually by:
- Exploring the Department of Health practitioner list for local providers.
- Scheduling a consultation with trusted virtual providers, through: Leafwell, MedCertNY, NuggMD, PrestoDoctor, or Veriheal,
Designate a caregiver
To designate a caregiver in the NYS Medical Cannabis Program, patients have the option of emailing the OCM at medical@ocm.ny.gov for assistance or completing the caregiver registration process through their website.
Once the designated caregiver has received their NYS Medical Cannabis Caregiver Registry ID, please send a copy to info@etainhealth.com prior to receiving an order on the behalf of the patient.
How do I place an order for Etain medical cannabis products in New York?
Once you're a registered medical cannabis patient, you can place an order online or visit any of our Etain medical cannabis dispensaries in New York to pick up products. Please provide the following upon arrival:
- A valid NYS Medical Cannabis Patient Certification (digital or physical copy)
- A valid state issued ID
